The Kajji Foundation does not provide assistance without the involvement of supporters who will take an active role in helping the young people to achieve their potential. Please view the ‘Our Supporters’ page which gives you an idea of the people and organisations who have been involved thus far. HOMESTAY FAMILIES Where one of our young people is going to be living away from home (as is often the case) it is vital that they are able to live in a secure and supportive family environment. Many of our supporters have offered homestay places to our young people and through this connection an important bond has formed between the young people and the homestay families. Much of the experience to date has been that the supporters get as much if not more out of the relationship with the young person than the young person gets themselves. It is the homestay families that provide the basic family situation for the young person and without a suitable supportive family environment, the challenges before the young person will be very difficult to achieve. Homestay costs are paid for fully by the Kajji Foundation or government sources. CLUBS AND ASSOCIATIONS Clubs, associations and similar groups that share the same passion as the young person are also a vital element to success. The Kajji Foundation welcomes the interest of clubs and associations who have identified a young person with particular talent but whose personal circumstances are such that the talent is unlikely to be brought to fruition without some external assistance.
EDUCATIONAL INSTITUTIONS Schools and other educational institutions are also a vital part or any assistance provided through the Kajji Foundation. If a young person is to achieve in his or her chosen field and also develop a general sense of confidence and the ability to one day lead their communities, they need to be well educated. The education must be broad-based and touch on all aspects of life. In its supporters to date, The Kajji Foundation has been fortunate to include wonderful schools who have provided full scholarship opportunities for our young people. The Kajji Foundation welcomes inquiries from schools who are in a position to offer similar generosity. GOVERNMENT Government also plays an important part in providing assistance to our young people. The Kajji Foundation is often able to arrange access to government funding at both federal and state levels.
