The Kajji Foundation has the following broad guidelines for people who are eligible for assistance.
TALENTED
Applicants for assistance need to have a special skill or talent that they wish to pursue. The skill or talent can be in almost any field of human endeavour e.g. sport, trade or vocational activities or artistic pursuits. The talent need not be prodigious or extraordinary but it needs to be well above average. Most importantly the applicant for assistance needs to have the desire and hunger to push him or her self to get the most out of this talent.
YOUNG AUSTRALIANS
Applicants for assistance need to be Australian citizens. Our preferred age range is from 13-18 years.
ACHIEVING POTENTAL FOR THEMSELVES
As mentioned above, the applicant for assistance needs to be a self-motivated person with a drive to reach their potential and apply themselves accordingly.
ACHIEVING POTENTIAL FOR THE COMMUNITY
In selecting young Australians for assistance, the Kajji Foundation looks at the potential leadership abilities in the applicants for assistance. The Kajji Foundation hopes that by providing this assistance young Australians will be presented with opportunities that they had not considered, or for reasons such as location may not have been able to access. It is hoped that by exposing students to these opportunities they will in turn be able to return to their communities with strengthened leadership skills and help shape their communities into the future. The starting point for assistance from the Kajji Foundation is to complete the application for assistance from which can be downloaded here.
